Summer Style Guide
Summer Style Guide
The sun is out, but there is sill a slight nip in the air, however, the fashion conscious among us have our eyes on the arrival of summer fashion. It is time that you need to start to think about hanging up your winter coat in favour of lighter layers, cool linen shirts & gilets as an extra layer during those social distanced BBQs we are all looking forward to.
Let Benedict & Hott help make this process easier by highlighting 5 foolproof ways that you can transition from winter to spring fashion…..
1. Get layered.
One of the easiest ways to cope with the varying temperatures at this time of the year is to partake in some good old layering. Our sophisticated double-breasted lambswool gilets, makes for a stylish wardrobe addition. The padded gilet is the ideal garment for adding warmth and volume to your look and its functional for layering. It is a smart quilted alternative to standard gilets, offering more style points for those who prefer a more polished day-to-day look.
2. Swap in those summer fabrics.
Don’t jump straight to summer fabrics. Despite an occasionally 20°c + day, here in the UK, we often find ourselves in-between clothing items….too cold for a t-shirt, too warm for wool. Why not opt for a light weight spring fabric, such as our supersoft cotton sweatshirt, perfect for more relaxed outfits but hardwearing & warm enough for an afternoon on the river, an evening in the high seat or throwing on when the sun sets on the BBQ
3. Summer ready and squint free.
When it comes to true summer essentials, a baseball cap is up there with bottle of beer, late afternoons by the river & sunscreen. This essential wardrobe item in the right style can also add some personality to the standard shorts and T-shirt combo.
On warmer dress down days, use your cap to tie your outfit together by picking one in the same colour as another part of your outfit – be it your shirt or your shorts. Our Flexfit® tactical mesh cap is fitted for style and comfort, it is breathable & lightweight.
4. Embrace the umbrella.
As we all know…the British climate can be quite uncertain! However, keeping our beautiful solid hickory shaft and handle umbrellas, close to hand, will be the ultimate romantic springtime walk accessory. A forest green campy of 106cm, means that they can cover two people with ease.
5. Shooting shirts to lovely linens.
Switch out the cotton and flannel shirts that are sported during the shooting season. While those are perfect for the cold winter days, it feels and looks out of place in the warmer months. This is the perfect time to switch to more breathable fabrics like linen. A sneak peak at a new item, Benedict and Hott will be launching our new line of linen shirts, to add to our expanding summer wardrobe capsule. Stay tuned to social media for when they go live.
